Steve offers a global perspective on managing environmental liability, which he gained while directing environmental affairs for GNB Technologies, a multinational battery manufacturer and lead smelting company, for more than 20 years. He organized and led teams that developed and implemented environmental, health, safety and insurance programs to assure regulatory compliance and business flexibility at over 50 active locations worldwide.

In addition, Steve has negotiated successfully on the local, state, national and international levels interacting with regulators, media and other stakeholders, including valued customers such as Ford, Mercedes Benz, Wal-Mart, Ericsson and the US Department of Defense.

Steve offers clients the practical skills gained managing environmental liability in day-to-day operations, as well as related to mergers and acquisitions. He has successfully managed contingent, operational and transactional liability risks for properties ranging from a manufacturing operation to an environmental remediation contracting operation to a large industrial real estate portfolio with manufacturing, distribution and sales operations around the world.

Currently, he serves as Vice President of National Program Management, a managing general agent for environmental insurance that produces and develops insurance programs.

Rod understands the big picture, and in so doing, develops insurance programs that allow clients to remove the footnotes and liabilities from annual reports, improve their S&P rating and the cost of their debt financing, and enhance their tax consciences with regard to the treatment of environmental liabilities.

Abdul H. Shakir - Technical Analyst

Jeevan Shankar - Technical Analyst
